Anyone in the ad business knows that working with a committee can be an excruciatingly painful experiences. Why? Because you’re trying to please an entire group, which is not always an easy thing to do. In many cases, you’re trying to get the committee to agree on something that’s not aimed at them.

We’ve heard all sorts of analagies about committiees. One of our favorites comes from David Ogilvy. When asked about working with committees, he once said, “Search all your parks in all your cities. You’ll find no statues of committees.”

So, whenever possible, bypass the committee and go straight to the decision maker.
